Ever since I found out that my body reacts to certain food that I eat especially outside food like feeling bloated, stomach ache, and when my general health check result showed that I am overweight with my age and height. I started to listen more to what my body says…I started to find easy to make and prepare home cooked meals and from there my passion with cooking slowly starting to come back. Of course, not only super healthy meals – but I make sure that itβs something that my hubby and I would enjoy to eat every time I make something new. That should be including making some home desserts too, thus I discovered this, not only super yummy but also the ingredients are super easy to find and I can guarantee you that itβs super easy to prepare and make ππ©πΌβπ³. Itβs Flourless Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana cake, from the name itself – can you tell itβs already yummy π.
At home, we usually store bananas and when itβs already too ripe – I always try to find ways how to consume it rather than throwing it. And this is usually how I ended up discovering yummy sweet stuff like this recipe π.
Letβs get started then…
TOTAL TIME: 45 minutes to 1 hour
YIELD: 8 Slices
What kitchen stuff you need?
You need are mixing bowl, measuring cups, fork or baking rubber spatula, your baking pan 25.4 x 3cm (10βx5β), and parchment or baking paper.
Ingredients
β’ 3 ripe bananas
β’ 1.5 cups of Peanut Butter (I love to use Picβs Peanut Butter just right to what I need; contain no salt and especially sugar, not really a fan of too sweet stuff. And you can definitely use crunchy or smooth, I always prefer crunchy one π)
β’ 3/8 to 1/4 cup of honey (about 2-4 tbsps, this subject to your sweetness preference)
β’ 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
β’ 1/4 cup of Droplets Dark Chocolate (I usually use this one, but you can always use other shapes and type of chocolates according to your preference π)
β’ 1 tbsp of Unsweetened Shredded Coconut (Optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees or 176 degrees in celcius. On my first attempt, I used a tiny yet deep loaf pan and it took a while to get my cake baked. So, it would be really recommendable to use 25.4 x 3cm (10βx5β) for better texture and easy to get bake. Set the baking pan covered with baking sheet or parchment paper.
- Mix all the ingredients together until smooth and blend together.
- You can split droplets dark chocolate into 2. First half for mixing and the other half for topping. Or of course, you can sprinkle additional droplets for your topping about 2 tbsps.
- Bake it for about 35-40mins or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool down for about 2mins and ready to slice and serve. You can either serve it warm or cold along with a scoop vanilla ice cream on top or just the slice of cake, up to you π.
And there you have it! Very straight forward instructions and absolutely easy to follow. Donβt forget, itβs super yummy π.
This cake is great to serve as a snack or dessert time after meal. Great combination with hot drinks βοΈ too.
